What do Support Coordinators and Plan Managers do?

Is your NDIS funding Agency Managed, Plan Managed or Self Managed?

Plan Managers support you to manage your NDIS funding. (As opposed to having your NDIS funds Agency Managed or Self Managed.

if you have the relevant funding included in your NDIS plan, Support Coordinators assist you in connecting to the services and supports you require access to, and they are supposed to actively protect your rights.

Is your NDIS funding Agency Managed, Plan Managed or Self Managed?

How your NDIS plan's budget is managed determines if you must ensure the provider you contact for support is an NDIS registered provider or not.

Not all companies are NDIS registered providers and not all companies have to be.

If your NDIS plan is NDIA Agency Managed - this means the providers you enlist for help MUST be NDIS registered providers. This is because the NDIA pays your providers directly.

If your NDIS plan is Plan Managed - A registered plan manager manages your funding and pays your providers. The providers you access can be NDIS registered providers but they don't have to be.

If your NDIS plan is Self Managed - you or your plan nominee manage the NDIS funding and pay your providers. The providers you access can be NDIS registered providers but they don't have to be.

Our House Our Haven was established in 2016 following a demand for community - orientated mental health treatment services. Originally operating out of the Ipswich Central Church Hall, OHOH moved to a permanent premise at Karalee in November 2018. This has allowed us to enact our vision of providing holistic health care in an environment conducive to healing. In our new setting, our dedicated staff are able to provide a diverse range of services and experiences to our clients. The site is a peaceful rural block, with the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of life. As an old Queenslander with plenty of spaces to retreat to, visiting reminds many clients of the warm, cosy memories often associated with stepping into their grandparent’s house.

Visitors can find solace in tasks such as egg collecting, feeding and brushing down the ponies, investigating the herb and vegetable garden, or relaxing on the large back deck.

Karalee House also contains a number of private counselling rooms for your appointment and even a therapy dog who can join you if you need.
